Laureen is our fearless leader. See our story for how our company came to be.

Laureen teaches our 301, 303 and 401 courses at our school and at local hospitals and for Drexel University in Philadelphia. She also teaches our 301 TeleCourse.

She loves working with the other instructors on making our courses the best available and helping students on their way to certification.

She also volunteers her time as the founder and current president of the Southern Jersey Chapter of the AAPC and on the AAPC National Advisory Board.

She is the consulting editor for the Physical Medicine and Rehab Coding Alert and the Neurology Coding Alert published by the Coding Institute in addition to being interviewed for many industry publications.

Anita Carter, LPN, CPC

Anita works at our home office as our enrollment advisor. She is the glue that holds our office together. She teaches our 101 program at our school location and teaches our 301 program at a local hospital. Anita uses her clinical and practice management background to give our students a "real world" view of medical billing and coding. As a former student of Laureen's very first classes she is well versed in the teaching methods that have made CRN stand out.

Barb is our main 301 coach and conducts the 301 phone class in addition to monitoring the 301 discussion board. Barb teaches the 301 course in a classroom format one to two times per week and assists in creating mock board exams for the 401 course.

Tara was one of Laureen's very first coding students. We call her our "Rah Rah Girl" because she is one of the most motivating and encouraging individuals you'd ever want to meet. Tara teaches our 301 TeleCourse and helps coach our 301 students.

Tara spends a lot of time developing our online tests and quizzes and maintaining our BlackBoard system for the 301 program.

Kim Jawidzik, CPC

Kim also a former 301 student herself shares her expertise from her many years working in the billing arena by teaching our 101 TeleCourse and coaching our 101 students.

Kim is very proficient with medical billing software and was a Medisoft trainer for over 7 years.

She manages the BlackBoard system for the 101 program.

Joanne Baker, CCS, CPC

Joanne has the most experience among all of the instructors. She was one of the very first coders to sit for the CCS exam.

Her extensive background with facility based coding makes her a wonderful instructor for our 303 program.

In addition to coaching our 303 programs she maintains our BlackBoard system for the 303 program.

Lisa uses her clinical background as a nurse and her attention to details to provide challenging exams for our 301 program. Lisa is also one of our coaches.

Deanna L. Arvidson, RHIA, CCS

Deana has nine years experience in the HIM field. She graduated from the College of St. Scholastica, in Duluth, MN with her BA in HIM in 1996. She has since then gone on to provide onsite and remote coding support with a high level of proficiency in ICD-9-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding in hospitals of all sizes and severity levels. She has a broad knowledge base of Medicare and commercial insurance guidelines. Mrs. Arvidson has authored other remote/online HIT courses. She currently continues to give remote coding support, conducts internal coding quality audits, performs client DRG/APC validation reviews, assists in training and orienting new and current coders, and assists with the development of quality standards for identification of training and education needs. Deana has also served as MHIMA’s Ambulatory Care Committee Chair since 2002. She provides student coaching and curriculum development for the CRN Institute on a part time basis and is a valuable member of our team.

Ralph brings his many years of experience as a owner/operator of his own business to the operations of our company. His management of the many details in running a business have proved invaluable in supporting Laureen while she focuses on her other duties.
